Is there anything I need to do to prepare for my appointment?
We will usually send you an email that includes the following tips on PREPARING FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT.
- Remove any fragile, valuable, breakable or electronic items from the areas to be cleaned and from the path between the cleaning areas and the door. If our technician will be moving your furniture, be sure that furniture is emptied of all items and/or cleared of knick-knacks.
- Be sure that you’ve discussed all areas that need extra attention with the technician during your assessment – stains, spots, odors or areas that may need repair. If such areas were not noted during the assessment, or occurred after the assessment, be sure to point them out to your technician before he begins cleaning, so that he can recalculate pricing and/or discuss expected results with you before beginning the clean.
- You do NOT need to pre-vacuum. Our technician will vacuum all areas to be cleaned with our vacuum before he cleans.
- We always respect your privacy and will not open doors that are closed in your home. If you would like the carpets in your closets or any room cleaned, please be sure that the door is open and that you inform the technician that you want the area cleaned. Remove all moveable items (e.g. toys, shoes, etc.) from the floor of all rooms to be cleaned, including any closets, before the technician arrives.
- We will need access to a water hook-up, so please be sure that the property has water service on the date of the clean. Please note that there is a $50 fee charged for an aborted service call due to lack of water.
- We will need to park our large van as close to an entry as possible. Please make a parking spot available and make sure that other vehicles, bikes, etc. are not blocking the area. Our technician needs a clear driving corridor to and from the parking spot to ensure that there is no damage to any of your personal property. If the available parking spot is more than 250’ from the farthest area to be cleaned you must call our office at (360) 910-3100 or (503) 317-6413 prior to your appointment to ensure that the van carries enough hose.
- We clean by hot-water extraction with our truckmounted unit. Please keep pets, children and regular traffic off of carpet for a period of 2 to 6 hours. You may use the carpet lightly immediately after cleaning by wearing white socks. Wait 24 hours before removing Styrofoam blocks and foil tabs that are put in place to protect the furniture and carpet. Although not typical, some carpet may still feel damp for up to 18 hours depending on carpet soiling condition and the air flow in the room. This is normal and will not cause problems. We will use air movers during the cleaning process to assist with dry times.
- At your request, we will leave complimentary booties for you and your family to slip over your shoes if you need to walk on the carpets before they are completely dry and/or protective pads for metal or wood furniture which rests directly on damp carpet.
- If your service includes an odor treatment, please be aware that our initial odor treatment can take up to 72 hours to fully eliminate the odor causing bacteria. If the odor is still present at that time please call us immediately and we will schedule a second odor treatment at no additional cost.
- Pets should be removed from the areas to be cleaned during your appointment. An outside entry to your home will be open during the cleaning to allow our hose access, so pets need to be confined away from the carpets, not just let outside.
- Floors around the areas to be cleaned are slippery during cleaning. Therefore, all people in the household at the time of the clean, especially children, should take care to stay away from the cleaning equipment and the area being cleaned for their own safety.
